You are able to search for journal articles relating to Sociology by using several different library online research databases.

To get to the research databases, go to our librray website at and then click on the Research Databases link located in the middle of the page.

Once on the Research Databases page, browse the Subject Categories listed and click on Social Sciences link. This will take you to a long list of research databases that contain many journal articles related to Sociology. Although you can explore most of these, I would recommend that  you search the following databases on that list first:

Research Starters - Sociology

Social Sciences Full Text

and SOCIndex.

Before you start searching, however, I would suggest that you find a topic related to Sociology that is not too broad (will get too many results). Example searches:

religion and social institution

social institutions and functions and united states

If you are required to only use peer reviewed journal articles, then you need to be sure to check the Scholarly (or Peer Reviewed) Journals Box usually located in the area below the search box. Also, check the Full Text box so that you are able to read and print the whole article right away.

If you are using our research databases from off campus, you do need to login using your Limestone email username and password first.
